Calculation Simulation of Intergranular corrosion of Stainless Steel
Abstract
In highly oxidizing solution such as highly concentrated nitric acid solutions, austenitic stainless steel shows complex corrosion behavior in which grain boundaries are preferentially corroded and grain dropping occurs over time. We have developed a calculation method to evaluate the long-term integrity of materials by simulating such phenomena using calculations, which is difficult to do experimentally.
