Study in Research Group for Partitioning and Transmutation Cycle

We are conducting the fundamental study to develop a new separation process for uranium, plutonium, minor actinides (neptunium, americium and curium) and fission products for the purpose of establishing scientific basis of future reprocessing and future nuclear fuel cycle.

We are studying basic chemistry of actinide elements and developing a new extractant and a new adsorbent for the separation of actinides and fission products. Based on the results of these studies, we are developing various methods of separation process utilizing the experimental facility where spent fuel, plutonium, minor actinides and various radioisotopes can be used.
